Joel Patrick Riley, age 74, of Irving, Texas, died Jan. 2, 2025, according to an Ellis Funeral Home – Muleshoe notice published on Legacy.com about Jan. 14, 2025. He was born Dec. 1, 1950, in Muleshoe, Texas.
The obituary describes a long agribusiness career that began at Valley Grain Products Inc. soon after the Muleshoe masa plant was built. He later oversaw multiple factories in Madera, Calif., after a close friend and boss died suddenly. Valley Grain’s Masa Division was later acquired by Archer Daniels Midland and then Azteca Milling; Riley finished his career as an Azteca Milling sales manager with extensive travel.
He is survived by children Allie Riley and Burnley Riley Jaklevic, three grandchildren, and brother Mike Riley of Lubbock, among others. The family suggested memorials to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
