Mission Foods’ Pueblo, Colorado, tortilla plant is entering the final WARN window: manufacturing stopped Aug. 14, and the first layoffs are set for Oct. 13, 2026, affecting about 90 employees, Food Processing reported Aug. 18, citing Colorado WARN filings and local coverage. The trade write-up says the closure is expected to be permanent and completed by the end of October.

Mission Foods regional manufacturing director Armando Garza told The Denver Gazette (as carried by Food Processing) that affected employees continue to receive pay and benefits through the facility’s closure date even though production has already ceased. UFCW Local 7, which represents some workers, said the site began in the late 1950s as Candy’s Tortilla Factory and was acquired by Mission in 1994; the union has pointed members toward resources and noted bumping rights into Mission distribution centers in Pueblo and Aurora, Colo., per the same account.

For tortilla-plant and labor readers, this is a near-term workforce and capacity watch — not a new deal announcement. Tortilla News previously briefed the Aug. 18 WARN reporting (BizWest). With Oct. 13 now about two weeks out from Sep. 29, operators watching Gruma/Mission network footprint should treat the first-separation date as the next hard calendar marker.
